KATHMANDU, Aug 3: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to stay the reinstatement of Governor Bijaya Nath Bhattarai. A division bench of Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha and Prakash Chandra Wosti refused to stay the reinstatement after a hearing on a writ petition filed by former Governor Dipendra Bahadur Kshetry.

Kshetry, who was appointed governor by the past Maoist-led government in January after Bhattarai was dismissed on corruption charges. But Kshetry was dismissed and Bhattarai reinstated after the Supreme Court acquitted Bhattarai of the charges in July. Kshetry then moved the court, challenging his removal from the post.
