Maoists are dragging politics into the army by undermining the high level professionalism, norms and esteem of the national army, KC alleged, adding that the recent bargaining by Maoists for posts in the army is chiefly to blame for stalemate in the peace process.
Leader KC also made it clear that the NC, CPN-UML and other fringe parties have had to stand together to press for peace and constitution writing as Maoists are hell-bent on capturing state powers by derailing the ongoing peace process.
On the issue of governance system, KC said a parliamentary prime ministerial system, rather than a presidential system, would be more appropriate for the country.
KC, who arrived in his home district to commemorate the anniversary of late king Prithvi Narayan Shah, also said it would ungrateful on part of the nation to forget the contribution made by national luminaries and shift their statues from the current places.
