KATHMANDU, June 9: Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal Upendra Yadav has said that there is no meaning of elections to Constituent Assembly (CA) in the name of people´s fresh mandate.

Speaking at a program on Saturday Yadav said that political parties have no constitutional, legal and moral bases to go to people´s doorsteps seeking votes to the fresh CA elections. [break]

He alleged the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and a faction of Madhesi Morcha of conspiring to dissolve the CA.

Yadav reasoned that the CA was dissolved without yielding fruit as a faction in the CA was against pluralism and democracy while the next could not accept federalism and inclusion.

Yadav said that the leaders of the Nepali Congress and UML were misinterpreting the issue of identity-based federalism and creating more confusion.

Stating that the new constitution could be prepared through an all-side and all-party conference, Yadav added the draft of the constitution should be taken to people and could be amended as per people´s suggestions. "This constitution can be promulgated after approval by the popularly elected parliament," Yadav said.

Saying that consensus was the only mantra to end present political crisis, Chairman Yadav reminded that country´s problems would not be resolved by excluding Janajati, Madhesi, women and Dalits.
