Nine games to kick off on Sunday

DHANGADHI, Feb 25: The inaugural day of the Sixth National Games will see competition in nine different games. Among the nine games, three will be held in Kailali, two in Kanchanpur while the remaining four games will be held outside the Far Western Region due to lack of infrastructure.



On Sunday, football will be played at Kailali Multiple Campus while women´s volleyball will be played on the premises of Dhangadhi Stadium. [break]



Badminton will be held inside the covered hall of the stadium.



Likewise, Kanchanpur´s volleyball center will host men´s volleyball while taekwondo will be held at Kanchanpur´s covered hall, according to NSC´s training department chief Mohan Ghale.



Meanwhile, cycling will be held in Kavre, lawn tennis in Kathmandu, squash and shooting in Lalitpur. and swimming in Birgunj.



The games will be held from 7-12 pm in the first shift and then from 2-6 pm in the afternoon.



Players from five development regions, Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force Club, PLA Club of Maoist combatants and a university team are competing in the National Games which will be held from February 26 to March 4.



Players of Tribhuvan Army Club are not competing in the National Games for the second time in a row.
