KATHMANDU, April 13: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has expressed concern over rise in incidents of political confrontations across the country in recent days.

The constitutional body said at least eight incidents of political confrontations were reported in the last 12 days. According to NHRC, wings of UCPN-M, CPN-UML and Nepali Congress were involved in the incidents.

The rights watchdog said that the incidents were the result of growing misunderstanding at the political level. It has urged the government to take legal action against those involved criminal activities.

It has accused the local administration of not taking enough initiatives to maintain law and order.
