NFDC Film Award has a total of 20 categories. Many artists from the industry such as Aryan Sigdel, Dayahang Rai, Namrata Shrestha, and Keki Adhikari were present at the award ceremony to collect their nomination certificates.At the same program, the release date of 'Thamel Dotcom', a film under the Gopi Krishna Movies banner, was also announced. The film will be released on October 22 outside the Valley and on October 23 in Kathmandu. The song 'Timi Nabhaye' from the film was also released.
Minister for Information and Communications Dr Minendra Rijal extended his best wishes to the award ceremony and said that he has done his best for the film industry during his tenure.
"This was a totally new field for me. But now I've come to understand the industry. Currently, points for the film policy and division of films into genres have been put forward and I believe that their implementation will surely benefit the film industry," he said.
Speaking at the ceremony, NFDC Director Nirak Paudel stated that it was due to the support of the filmmakers that the award has reached this position and hoped for the goodwill to continue in the coming days. He also said that the award's actual judges were the audience and so their votes will be given priority while awarding the best in the industry.
