A New Zealand national, who was on the way to Tumlingtar of Sankhuwasabha from Lukla, was looted when he happened to go through a forest being confused with the route, said Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Sudan Singh Basnet.
The tourist has been airlifted to Kathmandu today after rescue operation, said basnet.
The robbers had thrashed the tourist and made off with his belongings worth USD 1,500 including a camera, sleeping bag, jacket and NRS 2,500.
The tourist has been taken to Kathmandu for treatment as he has sustained a serious injury to his head.
Police have intensified a search for the robbers , said DSP Basnet.
