New statute will be promulgated by mid-August: Minister Basnet

BHAKTAPUR, Aug. 2: Minister for Industry, Mahesh Basnet, has said that the country would get a new constitution within August 18.

Speaking at a program organized to declare Anantalingeshwor Municipality in Bhaktapur as fully-literate municipality today, Minister Basnet said that preparation was underway to promulgate the new constitution on Shrawan 32.He said, "Preparation is underway to issue the new statute on Shrawan 32. It would be appropriate to promulgate it on Bhadau 1 as the day of promulgating the new constitution is a historical day and there might be problem celebrating the day in future sure as the month of Shrawan might not always have 32 days."

Minister Basnet said that there would be no problem in delineation of the federal provinces if the environment of confidence was created.

Chairman of the District Education Committee, Pashupati Babu Puri said that Bhaktapur district would be declared as fully-literate district within August 17.

He further said that preparation was now underway to declare Bhaktapur as fully immunized, fully-child labour-free and fully clean district.

On the occasion, a 90-year-old Nanichhori Kayastha inaugurated the programme by writing her name and age. RSS
