New constitution only after demarcation

KATHMANDU, Aug. 8: Minister for Irrigation Narayan Prakash Saud has said that the new constitution should be promulgated only after ending the disputed issues on demarcation of the federal states and their names.

At an interaction program here Saturday, Minister Saud said that the constitution should be brought sooner by ensuring rights of all communities after ending the disputed issues based on consensus.


He said that economic, social and political rights should be reserved in the constitution itself regarding the districts that are lagging behind on regional development.

Likewise, CPN-UML leader Prakash Jwala said that people's feedback should be incorporated in the new constitution to represent their aspirations and wants.

Also speaking at the program, UCPN (Maoist) Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi said that constitution should be promulgated based on identity and feasibility. RSS
