The Sensitive Index that measures the transactions of Category ´A´ companies also went up by 0.28 points to settle at 112.39 points. Of the six groups that participated in the trading on Monday, only the Insurance group recorded loss in its sub-index. The insurance sub-index dropped 5.05 points to settle at 544.18 points. [break]
The sub-index of the Others Group, which gained 7.05 points to close at 535.78 points, was the largest gainer of the day. The Hydropower group saws its sub-index go up by 4.66 points to close at 752.95 points.
Similarly, the sub-indices of Banking, Development Bank and Finance groups saw their sub-indices increase by 0.62 points, 1.08 points and 0.34 points to close at 437.01 points, 473.25 and 399.46 points respectively.
A total of 152,879 units of shares and 72 scrips worth Rs 46.21 million changed hands through 703 transactions on Monday. Total market capitalization -- total worth of listed shares in the secondary market - was recorded at Rs 362.81 billion.
