The Sensitive Index that measures, which measures the trading of Category ´A´ companies, also declined by 0.74 points to 112.33 points. [break]
Hydropower and Insurance groups were the largest losers of the day, dropping 7.73 points each to close at 781.53 points and 525.24 points respectively.
Similarly, Banking -- the key trading group in the secondary market -- and Finance groups also saw their sub-indices went down by 3.26 points and 2.17 points to close at 434.22 points and 392.72 points respectively.
However, Hotels and Development Bank groups gained by 4.35 points and 0.87 points to close at 404.99 points and 474.63 points respectively.
Though the Nepse index dropped on Monday, total turnover rose to Rs 28.55 million from Rs 19.96 million recorded a day earlier.
Similarly, the number of share traded also went up to 94,063 units from 54,156 units. However, total market capitalization slipped to Rs 364.19 billion from Rs 365.99 billion recorded a day ago.
