Sharing the main agenda behind the event, Pankaj Shakya, the vice chairman of Foundation Nepal said, “The event has been organized to collect funds for Centre Nepal: an NGO working for mentally challenged children in Nepal.” And to be a part of this campaign every band interested is expected to contribute an entry fee of Rs 5,000.
However, for the talented ensemble it could be a proposition of money well spent; the winning band will be handed Rs 50, 000, with first runner up walking off with a handsome sum of Rs 20, 000. Shakya added cash prizes for best vocalist, guitarist, drummer and bassist, will be provided as well.
Winners will be decided on the basis of judge’s votes combined with the audience’s choice. Shakya further added, “70 % of the votes will come from the judges table but the verdict can swing otherwise should the audience’s 30% takes a different course.”
Umesh Shrestha, founder of KtmRocks (an indie online magazine and event management organization), Puru Lama, ex-bassist of the band X-mantra and guitarist Iman Bikram Shah have been roped in as the judges for the upcoming talent competition.
Tickets are priced at Rs 100 and will include special performances by Antim Grahan, Jindabaad, and the Singaporean band KaloDin.
