KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya is set to take its music to Siliguri for the first time on Saturday, February 28, marking a fresh chapter in its three-decade journey. The show will also be the band’s first international performance of 2026.
Coming off a four-city tour in Nepal, Nepathya is now in the final stretch of preparations for the much-anticipated concert. Though the band has previously performed in nearby Sikkim and Shillong, this will be its debut in Siliguri — the bustling gateway to Northeast India with a strong and growing Nepali-speaking community.
For years, fans from Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Mirik, Dooars and Jaigaon have crossed into Nepal to attend Nepathya’s concerts in border towns like Jhapa and Ilam. This time, the flow is expected to reverse, with audiences from both India and Nepal heading to Siliguri.

“It’s an attempt to bring together Nepali-speaking communities across the region in a festive celebration,” said Bikesh Kayastha of organizer Positive Vibes. With a week still to go, 3,000 tickets have already been sold.
The concert will be held at Utsodhara Teesta Township grounds behind Kawakhali Ground. Gates open at 5:30 pm, and the show begins at 7:30 pm.
“Nepathya has always shared a deep emotional bond with audiences in this region,” said Kiran Krishna Shrestha of Nepalaya, the band’s management company, adding that the team aims to deliver the same international-level production the band showcased last year before 10,000 fans at Wembley Arena.
Lead singer Amrit Gurung said the band is eager to elevate that long-standing connection.
A full team of musicians and technical crew will travel from Nepal for the show. Tickets are available online through the band’s official website, with separate portals for audiences inside and outside Nepal.
