Nepali mission discusses blockade with Indian officials

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Nepali Embassy in New Delhi on Monday disused blockade imposed by India on Nepal with the officials at Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

Nepali Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyaya, Deputy Chief at Nepali Embassy Krishna Dhakal, Kolkata based Consulate General Chandra Ghimire and Joint Secretary at Embassy Dhundiraj Pokharel discussed the matter with the Indian officials.On the occasion, envoy Upadhyaya requested to ease supply of petroleum products.

He said officials were briefed that people are facing hardship due to acute fuel shortage.

"We told them supply is yet to ease despite assurance for smooth supply from Saturday," he said to Republica, "Officials were assured that Nepal will take care of security of cargo vehicles."

In return, Indian side said supply system is at standby.
