KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Nepal-US joint military exercise kicked off at Chhauni of Kathmandu from Tuesday. Nepal Army's Mahabir Battalion (Ranger) and the US Army's 320th Special Tactics Squadron, 353 Special Operation Group, will participate in the seventeen-day long event.
According to NA's Directorate of Public Relations, the exercise will be carried out at various places, including Pokhara, Lukla and Mt Everest base camps.

The exercise will focus on high angle rescue, confined space/structural collapse, mission planning, swimming confidence training, swift water rescue, among others.
An infantry battalion of the Nepal Army (NA) and the US Army participating in the joint military exercise are expected to share their experience and help enhance their skills.
