KATHMANDU, Aug 28: After losing both of its previous matches, Nepal will take on India during its third match of the Nehru Cup Football Tournament underway in New Delhi, India.

India has different story than Nepal as it has won both matches it has played so far. It is looking for a victory against Nepal which will be sufficient for the host team to seal a place for the final with one match still to be played.[break]

With the results achieved so far in the tournament, India is nn high morale while Nepal which is still pointless will be fighting to open account in the points table. Based on the performance so far, Nepal is the weakest team of the group. Nepal has conceded seven goals in two matches played so far, the highest by any team in the tournament.

Looking at the previous records, host team has the upper hand against Nepal. In 12 matches played against India, Nepal has won two and lost 10 matches. The last time Nepal beat India was during the AFC Challenge Cup held in Bangladesh on 2006. Then Nepal had defeated India 3-0 which had fielded its U-19 team.

Meanwhile, Nepal´s coach Krishna Thapa has already failed in his target of beating Maldives and playing draw with Cameroon. Prior to the tournament, Thapa has assured victories against Maldives and India, and draw against Syria and Cameroon.

Meanwhile, coach Thapa has been quoted by goalnepal.com that Nepal will come up with different strategy against India. "We will come up with different strategy against India and it won´t be easy for them to beat us," Thapa said during the post match conference after his side´s defeat against Cameroon on Sunday.
