Nepal Pharma expo concluded with good response from the visitors

KATHMANDU, March 4: Nepal Pharma Expo-2012 organized with the theme of ´Synergy towards Excellence´ concluded in the capital Sunday. The expo was able to disseminate information about domestic products and introduce new technology in pharmaceutical industry.



According to the organizers foreign companies very satisfied as they not only disseminated information about the latest technologies but have also sold their products. [break]



Besides, the expo met its target of luring 25,000 visitors like doctors, pharmacists, business entrepreneurs, distributors and students.



“The expo was beneficial for pharmacy student like us as we came to know about the latest innovations. Besides, Indian exhibitors were very cooperative and explained in detail about the equipments they had on display,” said Anusha Shrestha, fifth semester student at Kathmandu University.



Mahesh Gorkhali president of Association of Pharmaceutical Producer´s Of Nepal (APPON) said the expo was an exclusive forum for the cross exposure and sharing of the technological and scientific advancement in the pharma world. In addition to that the expo also provided an opportunity to interact with professionals to exchange information and expand business in national and international level.



Abhijit Garde, assistant manager- international sales of ACG Worldwide said that he was very happy to receive good response from the visitors, and was able to sell the technology he had on display. “We will be participating in the next expo in the year 2014 as well, and will introduce latest technologies in the field,” said Garde.



He further said Nepali pharma industry was an emerging market with a huge potential for growth. During the expo, pharmaceutical producers´ urged the government to create environment for export as Nepali medicines were of international standards and capable of competing with international brands. “We just want the government to create a favourable policy so we can export our products,” said Gorkhali.



He further said he felt proud to have the active participation from all the listed pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors and associated business holders.



APPON organized the event in association with Graduate Pharmacists´ Association of Nepal (GPAN) and Nepal Pharmaceutical Association (NPA). Agilent Technologies-- a US based company was the main sponsor of the event.
