Nepal beats Bangladesh 2-0

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Nepal got off to a flying start during the Eight SAFF Championship beating Bangladesh 2-0  in the inaugural match held in the Capital on Saturday.



Nepal’s striker Anil Gurung opened the scoring in the 17th minutes and Bharat Khawas added the second goal in the 31st minutes. [break]



The championship was kicked off at the Dasharath Stadium in the capital on Saturday at 6:30 pm. Nepal is now playing the opening match against Bangladesh. Minister for sports and Youths, Ram Kumar Shrestha handed over the ball to Nepal’s football team captain Sagar Thapa.
