KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Chairman of Constituent Assembly (CA) Subas Chandra Nembang has said that political parties should move ahead forging consensus in the face of tough political times.

Speaking at an interaction on the roles of the Constituent Assembly and journalists in women´s issues organised by Women Constituent Assembly Members´ Group in Capital on Wednesday, he said that consensus is the only alternative to bail the country out of the present crisis. [break]

Quoting the provision in the Interim Constitution, he said that a government can be formed unanimously and if that can´t happen, it can be formed through two-third majority.

Hailing the role of journalists in parliamentary reporting, he said more needs to be done in future.

On the occasion, CA Vice-Chair Purna Kumari Subedi said the participation of women in the parliament is satisfactory and this participation should make a concrete decision on women´s side.

Stating that women CA members´ voices are being low represented in media, she urged media houses to give the due space to women´s issues.
