NEA not to enforce power cut in Pashupati, Gaushala area

KATHMANDU, March 21: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will not enforce power cut around Pashupati and Gaushala area throughout the night where late G P Koirala will be laid to rest.



There will also be no power cut throughout the country till 5 pm Sunday in order to let the people view the funeral procession of Koirala.



"We are trying to supply power throughout the day today, but it depends on the load in the evening," Energy Minister Prakash Saran Mahat said.



The Director of System Operation Department of NEA, Sher Singh Bhatt, said, "There will be no loadshedding today around Pashupati, Gaushala areas."



He added, "If we cannot sustain load after 5 pm, then NEA will have to impose power cut in other areas of the valley."



Owing to the closure of industries around the country Sunday, NEA has been able to supply power.
