On Friday, around 10:00 am, Shakya made an unannounced inspection visit to the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Distribution and Customer Service offices at the Lagankhel East Distribution Centre and the Jawalakhel Centre, where he took stock of the situation.

Late Thursday night, he held discussions at the Syuchatar Load Dispatch Centre with grid officials and senior-level staff. During the meeting, he directed them to immediately identify technical problems and find solutions.

Shakya said that after receiving complaints from customers about power cuts, mainly in Patan, Syuchatar, Balaju, and nearby areas, he sat with senior grid and load dispatch officials late into Thursday night to trace the root cause and resolve the problem.

He said the Authority’s focus is not only on supplying electricity but on providing quality power. Urging consumers not to panic over occasional technical glitches, Shakya assured that the Authority would move quickly to fix any technical issues that arise.

The Authority also said that as winter sets in and the use of heaters, air conditioners, and other electrical appliances increases, electricity demand rises, and minor technical problems may appear from time to time. It assured that such issues are being addressed and urged the public not to fear a return of load shedding.
