The meeting also decided to stop Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai from making foreign visits, saying that his role has already been reduced to a caretaker PM. PM Bhattarai is scheduled to visit Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, scheduled for June 20 to 22, in Brazil.

Also, a Standing Committee meeting of CPN-UML held at its headquarters in Balkhu decided to take to the streets if the government, oblivious to its caretaker status, does not refrain from taking decisions unilaterally.

Early in the day, a joint meeting of the two major opposition parties had criticized the government plan for carrying out works, including bringing in the new fiscal budget, through ordinance.
