Speaking at a program organized by party district committee, Koirala said Nepali Congress is always in favor of democracy and press freedom.
“People have already abolished the 240-year-old monarchy and 104-year-long Rana regime,” he said. Hinting that the Maoist party is trying to become an autocratic power, he said, “People will leave no stones unturned to tackle any force that is against democracy. It´s just matter of time.”
Citing examples of Syria and Libya, he added that the whole world is following the path to democracy.
President Koirala said his party had always favored people´s desire for democracy and will continue to do so in the future.
In another context, he said there could be some difficulties in integration process as political parties are yet to agree on ranks of Maoist combatants joining the Nepal Army.
