NC, UML leaders discuss Maoist protests

KATHMANDU, April 28: Top brass of ruling parties--Nepali Congress and UML--held talks on Wednesday at UML party office in Balku to take stock of the Maoist protests.



In a two hour meeting, the leaders dwelt on upcoming protests of Unified CPN (Maoist) and ongoing protest of its student wing--All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), informed NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel.[break]



The private schools have remained closed owing to the educational strike called by ANNISU-R which has been demanding that the schools roll back its decision on fee hike.



NC leaders--Sushil Koirala, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Poudel and UML leaders--Jhala Nath Khanal and Bhim Rawal, among others were present in the meeting.



The two ruling parties have decided to  call a meeting of the ruling ten parties for Thursday to make public the government´s official stance about the Maoist protest.
