Speaking to the media after the meeting, NC leader Ram Sharan Mahat said his party would push for the position of co-ordinator of the commission, though the final decision in that regard, he said, would be taken consensually. [break]
“We are preparing to name a person [from the party to head the commission] who has a clear stance on national issues and has good understanding about the people’s aspirations,” he added.
Echoing Mahat, NC Vice-Chairman Ram Chandar Paudel said the party is making a list of the names for the position, adding that the person to be proposed would be a dignified figure in public life.
