While NC leaders sought support from the small parties stating that they would not accept a Maoist led government till the peace process concludes, the Maoists argued that they should be allowed to form the government by virtue of being the largest party in the Constituent Assembly. [break]
In response, leaders of the small parties said that the NC and the Maoists would have to come up with a clear view on the peace process and constitution writing to get their support. They also demanded that major parties settle contentious issues of the peace process.
RRM coordinator Eknath Dhakal, who was present at both meeting, said that the small parties clarified that they would support the party that will forge national consensus. RRM has 36 lawmakers.
