NBA vote count to begin from Tuesday

KATHMANDU, Jan. 14: The vote count of Nepal Bar Association´s Saturday elections would begin on Tuesday.



Election officer Rabiraj Bhandari said the count would begin at 8:00 am tomorrow after receiving the ballot box of Sarlahi district bar.



Earlier, the vote count was scheduled for today.



Bhandari said that elections were held peacefully is all the regions and the ballot boxes were received.



He said the results would be announced by Thursday.



Sher Bahadur KC is the candidate for the President from the democratic panel while Hari Krishna Karki is from the progressive-republican panel. Similarly, Surendra Thapa Magar is vying for the post of the Bar president from the indigenous group.



A total of 45 candidates are contending from three panels for the 17-member central committee of the Association.



Among the total 8,295 voters, seventy-six per cent voters cast their vote.
