KATHMANDU, March 28: Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) and Sakchyam, an access to finance program, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to further the purpose of financial inclusion.

Issuing a statement on Friday, Sakchyam said that it will collaborate with NBA through various initiatives in advancing regulatory reform, enhancing small and micro enterprise (SME) value chain financing, integrating technology platforms at the industry level, and introducing transformational product and delivery channel innovations in the SME finance sector.
According to the statement, the key areas that the partnership will focus on through the MoU will be to make recommendations on mutually agreeable legal/ regulatory reform actions for enhancing the goals of financial inclusion and establishing a SME Value Chain Finance Knowledge-hub platform. Likewise, fostering an integrated industry approach to deploying meso-level technology platforms and introducing transformational product and services innovations in SME finance under the broad categories of credit, savings, ancillary products, delivery channel innovations and enablers are other key areas for the partnership, the statement added.
