Naya Shakti protests against black marketeering, inflation

KATHMANDU, April 10: Naya Shakti Nepal on Sunday protested against black marketeering, shortage of essential goods, inflation and violence against woman.

The members of Naya Shakti Campaign staged a sit-in at Bhadrakali in front of Singha Durbar for two hours with the demands.

Coordinator of Naya Shakti, Baburam Bhattarai, cine artists Karishma Manandhar and Ashok Sharma among others were present at the sit-in.
Speaking after the sit-in, Central Secretariat member of Naya Shakti, Birendra Pokharel said that there was no responsible opposition in the country.

“It is hard to figure out ruling and opposition parties in Nepal,” he said, adding that the Nepali Congress (NC) has failed to execute its role of a strong opposition force.

He slammed the government for apathy toward relief and reconstruction after earthquakes.
