"With the expansion of fleet, we are resuming our flights to the two Indian cities from September," said Ram Hari Sharma, spokesperson of NAC, said. "We are hopeful that addition of two new sectors will help to increase our market share."NAC had stopped flying to Mumbai in 2005 and Bangalore in 2006.
The national flag carrier is resuming flights to Bangalore from September 1 and to Mumbai from September 2. NAC will be flying to Bangalore at 12:40 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Similarly, it will be operating flights to Mumbai at 2 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
NAC has fixed one-way fare to both the destinations at Rs 4,000 exclusive of taxes. When tax is added, the one-way fare costs Rs 10,092.
NAC has been resuming flights to different sectors and adding new sectors with the addition of two new Airbus A320-200 aircraft to its fleet. It resumed flight to New Delhi from February. It has unveiled plan to start scheduled flights to new destinations like Dubai (UAE) and Guangzhou (China).
NAC is planning to resume flights to Dubai after a gap of three years.
The national carrier is giving way on one ticket free of cost on purchase of two tickets on Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok sectors. Passengers have to pay a total of Rs 48,000 for two way tickets to Malaysia, including taxes, while round-trip fare to Bangkok costs Rs 33,000 including taxes.
The free tickets, however, have to be used within August 31.
