On Tuesday, the government directed Limbu to report at MoTCA every day, after he refused to give up his executive powers, despite direction of the Supreme Court.
“Limbu´s post of managing director will remain as it is, but his office will now be moved from NAC to the ministry,” Laxman Bhattarai, spokesperson for the MoTCA, told myrepublica.com.
The ministry was forced to take this action after Limbu kept issuing circulars in NAC claiming that the executive powers to run the company remained with him and not with Kansakar.
Last Friday, Limbu issued first circular directing all the staff members to take instructions from him. This created confusion among the employees of NAC on whether to take orders from Limbu or Kansakar. Following this, the government sought clarification from Limbu (on Sunday) asking “why the government should not take action against him.”
But instead of furnishing clarification Limbu issued another three-page circular on Monday, once again claiming that he was the chief of NAC.
“Limbu´s action goes directly against the spirit of the apex court´s verdict, which has pronounced Kansakar as the executive chief of NAC,” Bhattarai said. “We took the decision to depute Limbu at the ministry to uphold the court´s decision.”
