Alleging that the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML were exerting pressure on the president to sack Bhattarai, Maoist Chairman Dahal also asked both the parties not to drag the president into controversy. "Nepal Army won´t support the president if he sacks Bhattarai. [break]
This is because the Nepal Army is now a republican army. The Maoists have taken a right decision, both constitutionally and politically," Dahal said while addressing a function organized by Tamang National Liberation Front in the capital.
Dahal also said that current struggle between the parties is for power. Referring to the allegations that the Maoist government´s announcement of fresh election date was their strategy to capture state powers, he questioned, “Is the state powers the private property of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML?” He also argued that the new constitution should be written by the CA elected by the people even if it requires holding elections four times.
