NA opens Integrated army training center

KATHMANDU, April 23: The Nepal Army (NA) has opened an Integrated Army Training Center (IATC) in Saljhandi, Rupandehi.



IATC commandant Colonel Naresh Chandra Bhatta said the center aims to provide professional and effective training to build junior-level leadership. [break]



He informed that 880 army personnel have already been trained from the Recruit Training Company, Battalion Support Weapon Training Wing, and Signal Training School Wing under IATC and 374 soldiers are currently being trained there.



Similarly, the NA has completed construction of IATC Headquarters building, Junior Commission Officer/Non-Commission Officer Training School and Recruit Training Center under the first phase.



The IATC, built in total area of 2,500 bigha land, is a government approved 10-year master plan of the NA. The first phase of the IATC was completed at a cost of Rs. 97.6 million.



Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Chattra Man Singh Gurung inaugurated the training center on Sunday.
