NA officers penalized

KATHMANDU, June 6: A probe panel of Nepal Army has pronounced two of its officers guilty in April 18 Sohrakhutte incident in which the NA men from Chhauni-based Mahabir Battalion picketed the Sohrakhutte Police Station.



Around 90 NA rangers, who were out for morning parade, picketed the police station for about 15 minutes and threatened the police officers on duty.



A Court of Inquiry formed by the NA found Major Sanjay Jung Rayamajhi and Major Rajesh Bikram Shahi guilty in the incident, a press release issued by NA´s Directorate of Public Relations said Sunday.



The statement added that Rayamajhi´s promotion has been suspended for a year while Shahi has been given ´serious warning´.
