Akhil Cup TT ends
Pradeep Roka of Prime College clinched the title of boys´ singles during the Akhil Cup Inter-college Table Tennis Tournament that concluded on Sunday.
Roka defeated Pravin Sherpa of Prime 11-5, 11-5, 5-11, 16-18, 11-9 in the final. Likewise, Rabina Maharjan of Prime won the girls´ singles title defeating Ashmita Shrestha 11-7, 11-5, 13-11, also of Prime, in the final.
In the all-Prime final of mixed doubles, Rabina Maharjan teamed up with Pravin Sherpa to defeat Ashmita Shrestha and Pradeep Roka. Sonu Gupta of Golden Gate secured the third place in the boys´ singles while Mira Adhikari of Columbus finished third in girls´ singles.
In the mixed doubles, the pair of Deepak Shrestha and Reena Shrestha of Kantipur City College won the third position.
Prithvi beat Gyankunj
Prithvi School beat Gyankunj 31-5 under girls´ category in the Fifth Valley Public Inter-school Basketball on Sunday.
Likewise, Bagmati and Mahendra Bhawan also won their respective matches player at the court of the hosts Valley Public at Golfutar. Bagmati edged out Bhrispati 21-14 while Mahendra Bhawan hammered Pathshala Nepal 16-1.
In the boys´ category, Prithvi, Texas, Bhrispati and British Gurkha Academy (BGA) won their respective matches. Prithvi ousted Forward 24-17, Texas thrashed Pathsala Nepal 17-5, Brihaspati defeated St Xavier 24-16 and BGA beat Bagmati 26-11.
Double win for NIMS
NIMS secured a double victory in the 10th Wilson Inter-school Basketball Tournament (Wilson Hoops) on Sunday.
Both the senior boys´ and girls´ teams of NIMS won their respective matches at the court of Wilson Academy, Bafal.
The boys´ team struggled past Galaxy 49-44 and the girls´ team defeated Excelsior 30-22. In other matches in the senior boys´ category, Unique, Penwood, British School and RIBS won their respective matches.
Unique thrashed Sunrise 62-20, Penwood edged out Holy Vision 39-23. Likewise, British School squeezed past Midland 36-30 while RIBS ousted Alpha´s 36-26.
