MYAGDI, July 24: Public and private vehicles hit the road as usual and students headed for their schools like any other day. The impact of the general strike called by Netra Bikram Chanda-led CPN-Maoist on Friday had no impact in Mustang.
A local youth, Niraj Thakali proudly declared on his Facebook, "Mustang is always open."

The local leaders respect public sentiment and pay no heed to the instructions from their leaders at the center, he further claimed.
"We call on the people to come out against banda to push back banda organizers," said Khagendra Tulachan, chairperson of Mustang chapter of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
The strike called by small groups, like the one led by Chand, generally does not have huge impact. But the Mustangis united to confront the shutdown enforced by Nepali Congress some four years ago.
