According to Chairman of Rastriya Muslim Mahasangh Taj Mohammed Miya, former state minister for home affairs Rijwan Ansari and former State Minister for Land Reforms and Management Haqikullah Khan and other seven Muslim lawmakers have been arrested. [break]
The alliance of Muslim lawmakers from various political parties and Muslim rights organizations submitted a memorandum to the district administration office demanding guarantee of the identity of Muslim community in the new constitution, among others.
They have also called a nationwide transport shutdown from 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday as part of their campaign to exert pressure on the political parties to address the concerns of Muslim community in the new constitution.
