In a low scoring match, Warriors were could manage 119 runs for six, two run short of the victory target. They needed 12 runs off the last over bowled by Munaf Patel.[break]
Mithun Manhas made unbeaten 42 but not sufficient enough to get past the target. Patel took one wicket and Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh claimed two wickets each.
Earlier batting first, Mumbai scored 120 for nine, with openers Sachin Tendulkar (34) and James Franklin (25) sharing a 50-run stand at the top.
Tendulkar´s dismissal in the 12th over triggered the collapse as the next fours wickets fell for 12 runs, leaving Mumbai at 93 for 7. For Warriors, Ashish Nehra took two wickets including that of Tendulkar, conceding 19 runs.
With the win, Mumbai are now third in the points table with 16 points from 10 games while Pune are lying at eighth place after four losses in a row. They now have eight points from 11 matches.
