Expressing their concern over the negative publicity of Nepal's tourism after the April 25 earthquake and its repercussion, they spoke of the need to burnish the image of the Mt Everest.At a programmme organized by the Shikhar Post Monthly in the capital city, Minister for Tourism and Culture Kripasur Sherpa said that the government has accorded the utmost priority to promote tourism in Nepal.
On the occasion, he informed that the reconstruction of the quake-hit historical and cultural heritage was already on.
Also speaking at the programme, lawmaker Bal Bahadur KC drew the attention of the authority concerned to reestablish the identity of the Mt Everest.
Chairperson of the Sagarmatha Society, Lakpa Norbu Sherpa shared that although the massive earthquake did not cause much damage to the Mt Everest, the influxes of the tourist after the disaster remain dismal.
President of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Ang Tshering Sherpa and Thamel Development Council Chairperson Ramsharan Thapaliya lamented over the adverse effects of the shutdown and strikes on the tourism sector in this country. RSS
