The newborn was buried on the corn field by the mother, said Matrika Sherpa, a local teacher. The baby is said to be in a normal condition after being rescued alive. [break]
According to Sherpa the mother of the child Phul Maya BK has been apprehended by the locals and preparation are being made to hand her over to the police.
Her husband is currently abroad for employment purpose and she has been living with her parents.
A police team has been deployed to the incident site for investigation.
