Money looted from bank partially recovered

TULASIPUR, Dec 24: Some of the money looted from the Tulsipur branch of Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) last week has been recovered by the police.



The police recovered around Rs 8.7 million from the house of Khagendra Basnet, a cashier at the looted BoK branch, and the rented room of Amar Bohara, a driver of Kumari Bank´s Tulsipur branch. [break]



Police had raided Basnet´s house and Bohara´s room on Friday on the basis of CCTV footage at the bank. Basnet and Both of them have been arrested.



Three days ago, three unidentified people posing as customers had looted more than Rs 20 million from the bank. As the robbers had trained all CCTV cameras on the floor and tampered with computer system linked to the CCTV cameras, police had suspected the bank staff´s involvement in the robbery.
