KATHMANDU, Dec 28: The government has transferred 30 undersecretaries serving in various ministries and subordinate offices. According to a decision made on December 27 by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA), the reshuffle includes changes in several key administrative positions.
Under the decision, Mahendra Kumar Sapkota from the Ministry of Defence and Upendra Raj Paudyal from the Ministry of Labour have been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Likewise, Krishna Kumari Gauli Tiwari, Rajeshwori Khatri Sapkota, and Manoj Kumar Shaini have been posted to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.
34 undersecretaries transferred after completing term
As part of the transfers, chief administrative officers of around a dozen local governments have also been changed. Purushottam Ghimire, who was in the additional group at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, has been appointed as the Chief Administrative Officer of Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality in Sindhupalchok. The incumbent chief, Baikuntha Prasad Sapkota, has been recalled to the ministry.
Similarly, Nathu Sah, Chief Administrative Officer of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, has been transferred to Bhojpur Municipality.
Damodar Sharma, Chief Administrative Officer of Panauti Municipality in Kavrepalanchok, has been pulled back to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration. In his place, Nokhiram Oli, previously serving as Chief Administrative Officer of Tripurasundari Municipality in Dolpa, has been posted to Panauti.
