Ministry directs cable operators to transmit TV channels

KATHMANDU, Jan. 16: The Ministry of Information and Communications has directed the cable television operators to immediately start the transmission of TV channels including NTV and NTV Plus closed against the conditions to compulsorily transmit them while taking licenses.



The Ministry said it is fully committed to implementing the National Broadcasting (sixth amendment regulations 2069 BS) to provide quality services to the masses. [break]



The government said it is alert on the act carried out to negate the making of clients´ number, service and revenue transparent.



The ministry said its attention was drawn toward the stopping of transmission of channels including NTV, NTV plus and Image Channel and added the process of action has been started as per the National Broadcasting Act 2049 BS.
