Medical team probing Doti infant deaths

DOTI, Aug 24: A medical team from Kathmandu has reached Kadamandau in Doti District on Friday to find out the cause behind the death of four infants. The infants had died within 24 hours after they were administered DPT and measles vaccines on August 20.



The team consists of Dr Prem Shrestha, supervisor of vaccination department at Child Health Division, Dr Janardan Giri from the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr Shreejana Shrestha, child Specialist from Patan Hospital, and Dr Ajit Raymajhi from the Kanti Children´s Hospital. [break]



According to Swartha Yadav, Supervisor of District Health Vaccination Improvement Program in Doti district, the exact cause of the death would be known only after the team submits its final report to the Child Health Division.
