KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Questioning the reliability of the ruling Maoist leaders´ proposal, leaders from the opposition parties have said the proposal to form a new government under the incumbent chief justice does not even deserve a comment.

Nepali Congress Spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu said the proposal to be floated by the Maoists is not reliable as they would invent yet another idea within a few days to confuse the opposition parties.[break]

“There is no point in commenting on it also because the UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s idea to form a new government under the leadership of chief justice is contradicts the statement of the prime minister, who has sought support from the party to stay in power for the next 20 to 25 years,” Badu told media persons at the NC head office in Sanepa on Thursday.

“The Maoists are floating one idea after another with to confuse the public as well as the opposition parties.”

CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli said there is no point in commenting on rumors. He said that the idea doesn´t deserve any comment as “it is not Maoist´s proposal but just a statement given by a leader.”

Asked if the joint meeting of the opposition parties discussed the Maoist proposal, CPN-UML leader Raghuji Pant informed that they didn´t held any discussion on the issue. "It was not discussed because there is no meaning in debating on the issues that were discussed in the Maoist general convention,” he said.
