KATHMANDU, Feb 13: The Parliamentary Party meeting of UCPN (Maoist) is underway at the party´s PP office in Singha Dubar on Monday.

The meeting is being held ahead of today´s parliamentary meeting preparing to endorse three bills related to money laundering to be tabled by the government for which the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global body working to curb money laundering, has served to Nepal a deadline of February 13. The FAFT has warned Nepal of blacklisting in case it fails to approve the three bills each on mutual legal assistance, on amendment to laws related to extradition and  on eradication of organized crime within the deadline.

The hardline Maoist faction led by party Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya has taken serious exception to the planned endorsement of the bills by the House without holding broader consultation.
