Mangalam, Sahara cements banned in east

BIRATNAGAR, Feb. 22: The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology, Regional Office, Biratnagar, has banned the sale of Mangalam, and Sahara brands cement in the Eastern Development Region.



These brands of cement are produced by the Ambe Cement Industry.



Chief of the Regional Office of the Bureau, Shashibhushan Yadav, said the office banned the sale of the cement in the east as the Industry was found producing and marketing the cement without acquiring the Nepal Standard (NS) mark.



The Bureau has banned the production and sale of the cement until further notice as the Industry was found producing and packing the cement in the sacks of Mangalam and Sahara brands without taking the NS mark, said Yadav.
