Man dies as bus hits bike in Lalitpur

LALITPUR, Feb 10: A public bus hit a motorcycle at Khumaltar, Lalitpur, late Saturday evening, killing the motorcyclist and inuring his wife and their six-month-old daughter, both of whom were riding pillion.



Suresh Barma, 33, was fatally injured when his motorcycle (Ba 33 Pa 5654) was hit by a bus (Ba 2 Kha 3888) bound for Dhapakhel from Satdobato at around 9 pm.



He died during the course of treatment at Sumeru Hospital Lalitpur, traffic police said. His wife Silasha, 27, and their six-month-old daughter, who were injured in the incident have been sent to Neuro Hospital, Bansbari for further treatment.



Police have impounded the bus and detained its driver.
