Major parties mulling to redraw provinces

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Four major political parties have started homework to redraw provinces.

A meeting of top-notch leaders of major parties on Saturday morning agreed to make some changes in the seven-province model that has drawn protests in different parts of the country.

A meeting of taskforce formed by major four parties discussed on secularism, threshold and on division of Baglung and Rukum districts, but failed to reach an accord, a leader attending the meeting said.
 
The taskforce is to brief the meeting of top leaders on agreed and yet to be resolved issues.

According to source, taskforce has forged agreement on decreasing timeframe for barring to file no confidence notion to one year.

A meeting of top leaders scheduled this evening will attempt to forge accord on making changes in federal boundaries.

The deadline to file amendment proposals on the constitution bill is ending today.
