‘Madhu-Malatiko Katha’ in Moscow

KATHMANDU, March 23: Nepali short film ‘Madhu-Malatiko Katha’ has been selected to be screened at the Detective Fest Film Festival in Moscow, Russia. It deals with children’s psychology, and is based on a short story of the same title written by Ramesh Bikal.

Presented by Hello Nepal Films Pvt Ltd, the film has been directed by Subash Gajurel, whose film ‘Basain’ was Nepal’s official entry for the Academy Awards in 2006.

“I had recently completed making the film and I’m excited about it being premiered at the film festival in Moscow,” Gajurel told Republica.

The film features Madan Das Shrestha, Sabita Gurung, Bharat Sitoula, and child artistes Santosh Pokharel and Aayusha Subedi in lead roles.



The 40-minute long film has also been nominated under the ‘Theme TV Series, or an episode with a complete story’ category. The festival will be held from April 15 to 19 in Moscow, Russia
